Originally released in 2010, cult electronic duo Crystal Castles’ groundbreaking second album, Crystal Castles (II), solidified the band’s status as pioneers of chaotic, lo-fi electro with a dark, melancholic edge. The album features some of their most iconic tracks, including “Celestica”, “Baptism”, and the glitch-heavy aggression of “Doe Deer”. “Not In Love” – later reworked with The Cure’s Robert Smith – stands as one of their most celebrated songs, blending icy synths with raw emotion. A perfect mix of beauty and brutality, Crystal Castles (II) captures the band at their peak and is essential listening for fans of experimental electronica and darkwave.
