A perfectly pugnacious snapshot of the first wave of D.C. hardcore, Dischord Records Flex Your Head compilation delivers not only early tracks from Minor Threat, Void and Government Issue as well as Henry Rollins pre-Black Flag band, State of Alert but a peek behind the curtain of one of punks most legendary and genre-codifying scenes. Featuring 11 bands, 32 songs and 41 minutes of raw, unfettered aural intensity, Flex Your Head is a speed-forward sampler that set the bar super high at the dawn of the Eighties hardcore movement.
