Description
Are you struggling to see God? Does His face or character seem out of focus or incomplete? Portrait of God seeks to construct a vibrant painting of God by spending time in the stories of men and women who faced similar struggles in centuries past.
Each chapter explores an attribute of God through a person in church history who radically experienced His nature, applying it as a brushstroke to our portrait. Here youll discover
- Faith: how an all-powerful God worked miracles in the life of Kathryn Kuhlman,
- Holiness: what Augustine of Hippos life in a secular world teaches us about God,
- Compassion: how William and Catherine Booths service to others radiated Gods love,
- Five additional retellings and reflections from author Jack Mooring.
Portrait of God includes a foreword from Michael W. Smith, thought provoking questions, and a list of further reading about each faith leader. As Jack writes, The Christian life is less about learning and more about remembering. When our spiritual life feels like a rollercoaster, true stories of faithful Jesus-followers help us rediscover our wonder about the unchanging character of God.
