Description
Three and a half years of shadow work pressed to wax. “Hello Are You There?” wrestles with dissolution, confrontation, identity crisis, and ego not an arrival so much as an honest account of the attempt. Genre-bending and eclectic, it moves from electronic experimentation to afrobeat-influenced rhythm and punk urgency, threaded throughout with singer-songwriter intimacy punchy horns and saxophone cutting through the haze. Somewhere between Radiohead’s emotional weight, Stereolab’s motorik drift, and Fela Kuti’s rhythmic insistence. There are no answers, only the next track.
