The album was recorded live in 1978 at the Universal Amphitheater in Los Angeles, CA when Belushi and Aykroyd opened a set for comedian and good friend Steve Martin. To the audience’s amazement, theBlues Brothersblasted them with a blistering rock ‘n’ blues performance that was thankfully documented. They later appeared on SNL and the rest as they say is history.
