Description
Ministry went all in with a furious and frightening industrial-metal sound on 1989sThe Mind is a Terrible Thing to Taste. The recording sessions at Chicagos Trax Studioswere reportedly tense and prone to violence. Piercing, thrash-style guitars merged with dancefloor grooves on bombastically-paced beaters like Thieves and Burning Inside. Dentist drill noises, tense war movie samples and bandleader Al Jourgensens washed-out but anxiety-riddled screams add an extra veneer of danger. In spite of the chaos or because of it it remains an essential, mind-expanding spin for any true industrial fan.
